To steal a line from ex NFL coach Herm Edwards….

“This is what’s great about sports. This is what the greatest thing about sports is. You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don’t play it to just play it. That’s the great thing about sports: you play to win, and I don’t care if you don’t have any wins. You go play to win. When you start tellin’ me it doesn’t matter, then retire. Get out! ‘Cause it matters.”

Flock…Not only do you have to make him earn it…you have to earn it too…or else what was the point of the entire fantasy season? Personally…I’m either going to kick ass or get my ass kicked in my two playoffs…I’d rather lose than split the winnings…This quote from Dick Vermeil sums it up for me…

~ If you don’t invest very much, then defeat doesn’t hurt very much and winning isn’t very exciting. ~

You can’t split with him, your lineup is vastly superior except at the QB position

Thanks for all your advice with this topic. I sent him an email with those familiar quotes basically saying we “WE WILL PLAY TO WIN THE GAME”

I personnally would feel bad if he did win it all and I took half his winnings. It wouldn’t be fair.
I’ll update with his response.

THANKS AGAIN grin

Talked to other player tonight. He agrees we both need put up or shut and go home.
1st place is $300 2nd is $150. There will be no splitting.

Any advice on a lineup that will have me jumpin’ for joy?
In bold are my thoughts.

Thinkin of grabbing harrison from WW so he doesn’t.
Snelling is also there but I don’t want to drop too many of my the players I have.
He might use them against me

Glad you set him straight and told him “We Will Play to Win The Game.”  Splitting the pot would have shown weakness on both of your parts and would have left a sour taste in my mouth if I was an owner i your league itching at the shot to win the title.

Now make sure to keep us posted on the outcome for the big game and based on your lineup and his I must admit I like your chances…

It comes down to players performing up to their expectations. You never know what is going to happen. I never look at things like its for sure.  I take an ANY GIVEN SUDAY approach.
The NE v JAC kinda scares me. It could easily get out of hand and NE could run up the score like they did v TENN and Maroney could BOOM.
D CLARK assuming he plays can go off at any time.
A Rodgers most definitely will have a nice game and could hook up with Jennings for a couple a scores on long bombs (It’s possible)

I’m not discounting this guy. He didn’t make the championship round because he sucks, he’s a formidible opponenent and I have to respect that.

Get rid of one K and N.O. DST.  You don’t need two of those, then pick up Harrison and Snelling.

Looking at your opponents RB roster, the above is a very good strategy.

We still have waiver priorities so while I was able to grab Harrison, He was able to grab Snelling.
He called me though wondering why I picked up Harrison…..........I guess thats the guy he really wanted HAHA.
I don’t think he’ll start Snelling if SJAX is playing,
He’s been riding him all year and couldn’t see him reinventing the wheel with the C SHIP @ stake.
