Later tonight they will announce the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner in College Football and I was wondering who gets your vote?

The finalist’s for the aware are:

Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
Ndamukong Suh, DE, Nebraska

My choice is Toby Gerhart. He carried that Stanford team on his back all season long and was the most consistent player in the nation from start to finish,. Plus, it’s tough to argue against 1,736 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns in just 12 games.

It should be an interesting Saturday Night to see who wins the award. Best of Luck to all five players in the running.

I think mccoy will get it but i think Ingram should win…Gerhart was great but compare the defenses he was going up against to the ones Ingram played against and you’ll see that Ingram has played much tougher defenses and has stepped up big when bama needed him the most…however, i am somewhat biased due to the fact that i am a bama fan and never really saw gerhart play a full game…its hard for me not to think ingram should win after seeing what he did all season long and after being present at the south carolina game when he led a 70 yard drive all by himself running the ball every play in that drive…i think/hope it will be between mccoy/ingram/gerhart

It should be a great Heisman Trophy presentation. I agree that the SEC has better defenses but without Toby Gerhart Stanford is a 4-8 or 5-7 team. With him, they went 8-4 and beat the likes of Oregon, USC and Notre Dame. Yes, USC and Notre Dame were down this year but Gerhart single handily ran his team to victory in all three of those games.

Here is a link to his game log….

Congrats Big Space.  Like I said, I was rooting for Gerhart but if anyone besides him one it I wanted it to be Ingram.  It was close, five first place votes and a shae over 20 points made the difference.

Good Luck to Alabama in the title game against Texas and now the school finally has a Heisman Trophy winner.
