Kerryon Johnson, Detroit Lions vs. Carolina Panthers

The rookie running back has been worth the weekly play nearly every week since Week 2, averaging around 15 touches per game, but expectedly struggled against quality defenses such as Minnesota and Seattle. However, Johnson had a very good game against the Bears, as a dual threat. The Panthers run defense can be put into that same company, allowing just two backs to rush for 70+ yards, both before Week 7. The only negative that can be said about Johnson is that he continues to be stuck in a timeshare whether that’s with LeGarrette Blount (less so with each passing week) or Theo Riddick. That partially explains why Johnson only has three touchdowns. That said, if the Lions weren’t struggling against good defenses, Johnson would be worth a RB2 play, but he’s a low-end RB3 this week.
