Latavius Murray, Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Now that Dalvin Cook is back, Murray’s role will start to be reduced. There was already a pull back against the Lions as Cook had 10 very effective carries for 89 yards. Like the Saints’ Alvin Kamara, they like to keep Cook on a touch-count of 15 and his versatility is better suited against an aggressive Bears’ front seven. Still, Cook’s numbers could be quite pedestrian compared to what is expected of him because the Bears are one of the best run defenses in the league. Murray on the other hand is still a useful plodder but could be used in certain short-yardage situations or if they feel a power back is preferable. That will be hard to guess on how many touches that role will get, but it’s wise to err on the side of caution in this matchup if better options on your roster are available.
