Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders
For all of the issues with the Raiders, Carr has generally not been among them apart from his eight interceptions. He’s completing 72 percent of his passes this season, with no interceptions over his last two games and at least three touchdown passes in two of the last four. In Week 9, he’s in line to produce.
The San Francisco 49ers entered Week 8 allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (ESPN scoring), and they’ve allowed multiple passing touchdowns in seven of eight games this season. They’ve also intercepted just two passes all season.
Carr gets some tougher matchups from Week 10-Week 12, but looking ahead to Week 13-Week 15 the fifth, fourth and sixth-worst fantasy defenses of the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals are on the slate. So while he is a top streamer for Week 9, Carr might be worth holding onto in two-quarterback leagues or as a QB2 in 12 and 14-team leagues with an eye on Week 13-15.
