Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Flacco didn’t do much against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, completing 22 of 39 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions. But he has got a nice rebound opportunity in Week 9.

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Week 8 allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (24.0 per game, ESPN scoring). Though they held Baker Mayfield to 180 passing yards on Sunday, they also allowed multiple passing touchdowns for the fifth time in seven games this season. One of those five multi-touchdown games was Flacco in Week 4, when he had 363 yards to go with two touchdowns.

Now that the Panthers’ matchup is behind him, Flacco is in line to be a QB1 on a weekly basis. Including the Steelers in Week 9, the former Super Bowl MVP faces five of the six worst fantasy defenses against quarterbacks entering Week 8 (ESPN scoring) over his next six games (through Week 15). The Oakland Raiders (Week 12) is the only exception, allowing the 12th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through Week 7, and it’s also a very favorable matchup. Even Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers looks pretty good.

A Week 10 bye is worth noting, but otherwise Flacco is primed to deliver for fantasy owners from here on out this season. He’s a must-add in two-quarterback or super-flex leagues, and in other formats he’s a top-end streamer until further notice.
