The 2018 NFL season is just six weeks old and time is running out to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 7.

Austin Hooper, TE, Atlanta Falcons

After posting nine catches for 71 yards and a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Hooper has nine receptions and over 70 yards in each of the last two games on 22 combined targets.

Week 7 is not a fantastic matchup for Hooper, but history says the New York Giants are vulnerable to tight ends and when up against a competent one this year they have struggled. Add in injuries to Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu during Sunday’s game, and it’s easy to put Hooper in line for double-digit targets in a third straight game.

A Week 8 bye is not necessarily ideal. But Hooper is standing out as a top tight end and he’s well worth adding this week, deploying in Week 7 and then holding onto for the stretch drive of the fantasy season.
