Jermaine Kearse, WR, New York Jets
With Quincy Enunwa exiting Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts in the first half with an ankle injury, Kearse stepped up with nine catches (10 targets) for 94 yards in the game. Production hadn’t followed before last week, but Kearse did have 15 targets from Week 3-Week 5.
Jets head coach Todd Bowles didn’t update Enunwa’s status on Monday, but a subsequent report he’s got a high ankle sprain puts him in line to miss multiple games. So Kearse is in line for a big role, ahead of a stretch of matchups that look tougher than they may turn out to be. After Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills are on the slate for the Jets.
As expected, Kearse is practically un-owned heading into Week 7. But he’s firmly on the radar in PPR leagues with 12 teams or more.
