Duke Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns

Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets a little grease. After expressing frustration with his workload during the week, Johnson had four catches for 73 yards (on five targets) along with two carries for 36 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. He still doesn’t have more than six touches in a game this season, but Johnson could now be launched into some fantasy viability.

Three of Cleveland’s next four opponents (Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Week 7, Kansas City Chiefs-Week 9, Atlanta Falcons-Week 10) were in the bottom-six against running backs (ESPN PPR scoring) through five weeks and as Week 6 stats are added (with Monday night’s game to go as of this writing) they could be three of the bottom-five against the position.

Johnson needs more touch volume to fully reach a fantasy ceiling. But he will be worth considering as a flex option in PPR leagues over the next few weeks, and as bye weeks really roll that’s worth a long look in all applicable leagues with 12 or more teams.
