Jameis Winston, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Any speculation about when Winston would replace Ryan Fitzpatrick was put to bed in Week 4, as the former No. 1 overall stepped in a halftime of a blowout loss to the Chicago Bears and threw for 145 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. To no one’s surprise, Winston was immediately named the starting quarterback coming out of Tampa Bay’s Week 5 bye.
In Week 6 Winston gets a banged up Atlanta Falcons defense that has allowed three touchdown passes in four straight games with over 330 yards allowed through the air in the first three of those contests. After that comes a mix of tough (Cleveland Browns-Week 7, Washington Redskins-Week 10) and easier (Cincinnati Bengals-Week 8, Carolina Panthers-Week 9) matchups for Winston, but Tampa Bay’s own bad defense puts him in line for plenty of volume.
Winston is a top-notch streamer for Week 6. But he’s got the potential to be a low-end QB1 on a weekly basis after that, and with a bye already behind him that won’t be a worry for those who add him.
