Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans
Mariota went 30-for-43 for 344 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, along with 46 yards and another touchdown. His elbow issue did not appear to be a major hindrance, and over the last two games he has run for 97 yards. Week 5 offers a good opportunity for Mariota to keep it rolling.
The Buffalo Bills have allowed just one passing touchdown in each of their last two games. But Kirk Cousins (296) and Aaron Rodgers (298) have both threatened 300 yards through the air, and they’ve got just one interception over the first four games.
Tough-looking matchups are on the slate for Mariota in Week 6 (Baltimore Ravens) and Week 9 (Dallas Cowboys), but Week 7 (Los Angeles Chargers) and Week 10 (New England Patriots) look pretty good right now.
Mariota’s fantasy floor is raised by his running ability. As long as his elbow is good enough for him to play he’s rosterable in 12-and 14-team leagues, and for Week 5 he’s in line to be a low-end QB1 in a nice matchup.
