Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions
Riddick had nine catches on 12 targets fr 47 yards against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday The Lions running back group has been a dismal cluster through two games. But Riddick has been heavily involved as a pass catcher, with 14 catches on 19 targets, and if Detroit is playing from behind a lot his will be the most stable role in the bunch.
Riddick is no stranger to making an impact in PPR leagues. He had 53 catches in both 2016 and 2017, which was preceded by 80 catches in 2015. Over the last four full seasons, he has 14 receiving touchdowns.
The Lions seem sure to be in passing mode frequently against the New England Patriots in Week 3, and almost surely in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers, with a Dallas Cowboys defense that has looked solid thus far in between.
His role as a runner will always be limited, though it’s notable Riddick went without a carry on Sunday. But he should be rostered in virtually all PPR leagues of 12 teams or larger, and his ownership rates are nowhere near that.
