Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Murray had just four carries for 19 yards against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, with two of those totes coming after Dalvin Cook left the game in overtime with a hamstring injury. It appears to have been some cramping on a humid day, but coming off a torn ACL the Vikings may be a little bit cautious with Cook.
When Cook was out a big chunk of last year, Murray ran for 842 yards and eight touchdowns in a workload split with Jerick McKinnon. He’s the handcuff to Cook now, but if the Vikings handle the Buffalo Bills they way they should in Week 3 Murray is in line for some extended work.
Murray is most appealing as Cook’s handcuff over the long haul, if he’s available. But for owners that are dealing with a depth crisis at running back, a back with 20 rushing scores over the last two full seasons should at least be checked on for availability.
