Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins
Tannehill went 17-for-23 for 168 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets on Sunday, while adding 44 rushing yards on eight attempts. Through two games he has completed 72.5 percent of his passes with multiple passing touchdowns in each game.
After a long layoff with a knee injury, Tannehill is being eased back in as a low-volume passer. He should continue to get more comfortable, and add some rushing production to raise his fantasy floor until (or if?) the shackles get loosened.
Three decent looking matchups are coming for Tannehill, against the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals from Week 3-Week 5. After a tough matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 6, it looks like it’ll get easier again against the Detroit Lions in Week 7.
Tannehill won’t carry a fantasy team in any week. But he is becoming a viable QB2 in two-quarterback leagues, and he’ll be a potential streaming option over the next three weeks.
