The 2018 NFL season is just one week old and while many might think it’s premature to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 2.
George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
The preseason breakout buzz around Kittle was delivered upon against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, with five catches (on nine targets) for 90 yards.
But those four unfulfilled targets included a dropped deep ball, an overthrow by Jimmy Garoppolo when Kittle was wide open and a missed opportunity for a touchdown.
A shoulder injury early in the preseason led to fantasy owners jumping off the Kittle bandwagon, or avoiding him in draft all together. But now’s the time to get back aboard, as a potential TE1 is fairly widely available on the fantasy football waiver wire. Especially if you are an owner of Delanie Walker, who is likely out for the season with a leg injury.
