Nick Foles, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Foles got the start in Week 1 in place of Carson Wentz, and became exactly what he has been most of his career (19-for-34 for 117 yards with an interception).
But things look way better for Foles, assuming he starts Week 2. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were abysmal against quarterbacks last year, then they gave up 439 yards and three touchdowns to Drew Brees on Sunday. Foles is no Brees, but he’s lined up for success next week.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Sunday morning that Wentz could return to action in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. But if he doesn’t, Foles would get another start in a favorable matchup.
As long has he’s in line to start Week 2 (which seems sure) and Week 3 (which is more speculative), Foles is worth a look as a streaming quarterback or a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.
