Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
Spurred by touchdown runs of 99 and 54 yards, and completely out of nowhere, Henry had 17 carries for 238 yards and four touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs last Thursday night. He hadn’t reached 60 yards on the ground in a game this season prior to that, but Henry has scored in five of his last seven games.
If you aren’t going to be bounced from the playoffs by an incredibly lucky Henry owner in Week 14, adding him on the back end is now on the radar. In Week 15 he gets the New York Giants, who entered Week 14 allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs (ESPN PPR scoring) with a rushing score allowed to the position in six of their previous seven games.
In Week 16 Henry gets the Washington Redskins, who are trending the wrong way against running backs in dramatic fashion. Then the Indianapolis Colts are on the slate for Week 17, and they entered Week 14 in the bottom half of the league against running backs (ESPN PPR scoring).
Henry adds nothing as a pass catcher, and that work will continue to be Dion Lewis’ domain. Week 14 is not repeatable, of course, but the 2015 Heisman Trophy winner is under-owned and looks like a solid RB2 in 12-team leagues over the rest of the season.
