The 2018 NFL season is 13 weeks old and time is running out to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 14.

Ian Thomas, TE, Carolina Panthers

Thomas set season highs for catches (five) and yards (46) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 13, as Greg Olsen suffered another foot injury and is expected to be out for the season. In three full games Olsen missed earlier in the season, Thomas averaged 4.7 targets, 2.6 receptions and 22.7 yards per game with over five PPR points and 5.5 targets per game in the latter two contests.

Week 14 brings a favorable matchup for Thomas. The Cleveland Browns are a bottom-10 defense against the position (ESPN PPR scoring), with the most receptions allowed to the position (entering Week 13) and a touchdown allowed to the position in three of their last four games.

Thomas gets two tough matchups against the New Orleans Saints in Week 15 and Week 17 after that, with a middle of the road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons between them. But based purely on the opportunity ahead of him, he’s no less than a top streamer for Week 14 with low-end TE1 potential in the fantasy playoffs.
