Curtis Samuel, WR, Carolina Panthers

Samuel streak of games with a touchdown ended at two in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But he set career highs for catches (six), targets (11) and yards (88) in the game.

Devin Funchess (back/neck) returned to action against Tampa Bay, but he saw just three targets on limited snaps. Panthers tight end Greg Olsen also suffered yet another foot injury in the game, and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Each of Carolina’s final four opponents, the Cleveland Browns (Week 14), the New Orleans Saints (Week 15 and 17) and the Atlanta Falcons (Week 16) entered Week 13 in the bottom-10 of the league against wide receivers (ESPN PPR scoring). So with plenty of question marks in the passing game, Samuel could be operating as a de facto No. 1 wide receiver through a nice stretch of matchups that started in Week 13.

Samuel also sprinkles in a rushing attempt here and there, with six carries for 76 yards and two touchdowns so far this season. All of it points to the second-year man out of Ohio State as an upside WR3 in 12-and 14-team leagues from here on out.
