The 2018 NFL season is 13 weeks old and there is still enough time to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire wide receivers for Week 14.

Dante Pettis, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Pettis had five receptions (on seven targets) for a career-high 129 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13. Over the last two games he has scored three times with nine catches for 206 yards over that span, with at least four catches in three straight games and 20 targets (at least six in each game) over that latter span.

Pettis’ increased opportunity has been rooted in the multi-game absences of Pierre Garcon (knee) and Marquise Goodwin (personal). The Week 14 status of both guys is unclear, and while the Denver Broncos are just barely in the bottom half of the league against the position (ESPN PPR scoring) they’ve allowed at least 85 yards to an individual wide receiver in five straight games and will now be without cornerback Chris Harris (broken leg).

If Pettis retains a prominent role in Week 15, he gets a rematch against the Seahawks. Then Week 16 brings a home game against the Chicago Bears, who are in the bottom half of the league against wide receivers (ESPN PPR scoring).

Pettis may retain an increased role going forward regardless of Garcon and Goodwin, as the 49ers look toward 2019. He’s in the mix as a WR3/WR4 in 12 and 14-team leagues for the fantasy playoffs.
