The 2018 NFL season is 12 weeks old and time is running out to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 13.
Gerald Everett/Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams
It was a fantasy football party for the Rams and the Chiefs in Week 11, and both Rams’ tight ends got in on the action with wide receiver Cooper Kupp out. Everett had three catches for 49 yards and two touchdowns, which gives him three scores over the last two games. Higbee got more volume, with six catches for 63 yards (on seven targets), and he also had a touchdown in Week 10.
The Rams’ next four opponents (Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals) all entered Week 12 in the bottom-half of the league against tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring). But the way their offense is rolling, and the void Kupp has left, all hands are on deck and fantasy relevant.
Everett has more appeal in standard or touchdown-heavy leagues, while Higbee is in line to be a better PPR asset if the first full game without Kupp was any indication. But in a search for tight ends who can offer anything, both of the Rams’ top two options deserve a look as waiver wire adds.
