Jeff Driskel, QB, Detroit Lions
Driskel started a second straight game in place of Matthew Stafford (back) in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys, and went 15-for-26 for 209 yards with two touchdowns while also adding 51 rushing yards and a third score. In those two starts, he has delivered 18.56 and 27.46 fantasy points respectively (Yahoo! scoring). Stafford is possibly out for the season, so there’s a growing chance Driskel is the starter from here on out.
Week 12 brings a favorable (and better than it looks) matchup against the Washington Redskins, who just allowed 293 yards and four touchdowns to Sam Darnold in Week 11. Six quarterbacks have topped 280 passing yards or thrown multiple touchdown passes against the Redskins this year (both three times).
Tough matchups are coming in Week 13 (Chicago Bears) and Week 14 (Minnesota Vikings). But then in Week 15 Driskel gets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who entered Week 11 allowing the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring).
Running quarterbacks always have value in fantasy, and Driskel definitely adds that element. If you need a streamer for Week 12, with Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Kyler Murray and Philip Rivers on a bye, he’ll be a good option. And if Stafford is indeed out for the year, Driskel will be usable in two-quarterback leagues.
