The 2019 NFL season is now 11 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Quarterbacks for Week 12.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns
Mayfield didn’t light it up in a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Thursday night (17-for-32 for 193 yards). But he accounted for all three Browns’ touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the game, and he has now topped 17 fantasy points in four of his last five games with a score on the ground in two of those.
Week 12 brings a nice matchup for Mayfield. They’ve been better lately, but the Miami Dolphins still entered Week 11 allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring). Miami has now allowed multiple passing touchdowns in eight of 10 games this season.
After facing the Steelers again in Week 13, the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner gets the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals in Week 14 and Week 15. The Bengals and Cardinals are also known as the third-worst and worst fantasy defenses against quarterbacks this year entering Week 11 (Yahoo! scoring). After an ill-timed tougher matchup in Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens, if Week 17 matters in your league Mayfield will face the Bengals again.
Mayfield has clearly had a disappointing season. He is on a positive trend though, with multiple passing touchdowns in back-to-back games, and a favorable schedule lines him up to at least be a high-end fantasy streamer over the next four weeks.
