Malcolm Brown, RB, Los Angeles Rams
Speaking of priority handcuff adds, I present Brown. Todd Gurley is the highest-scoring player in fantasy football right now, and if he were to go down the title odds of his fantasy owners will go down with him.
Brown only has 42 touches this season as Gurley’s backup, with a game yet to be played in Week 11 as of this writing, with 25 of his 37 carries in just two games and 35 of those carries in four games. But he’s averaging 5.1 yards per carry and 10.4 yards per catch, with a receiving touchdown on five receptions, and the offensive engine that is the Rams would practically automatically make him an instant RB1 for fantasy in a bigger role.
As the playoffs approach, it’s about trimming the fat from a fantasy roster. For a Gurley owner, adding Brown to the end of your bench is an upgrade over a WR5 you haven’t even thought about using in a handful of weeks.
