Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns

Mayfield went into a Week 11 bye on a streak of four straight games with multiple passing touchdowns. He underachieved in terms of yardage through that favorable stretch of games, but he’s got another pretty nice matchup in Week 12.

Entering Week 11, the Cincinnati Bengals had allowed the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (24.2 per game, ESPN scoring) with 10 touchdown passes allowed over their previous three games. Lamar Jackson didn’t throw a touchdown in his first NFL start against the Bengals on Sunday, but he did post 267 total yards.

Mayfield gets a tough matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 13, but after that the Carolina Panthers (fifth-most fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks going into Week 11; ESPN scoring) are coming in Week 14 and the Denver Broncos (Week 15) aren’t quite the bench-grade matchup they’ve been in recent years. Then Mayfield gets the Bengals again in Week 16.

The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner has been a solid option for fantasy owners as a rookie. He’s a top streaming quarterback for Week 12 (attention Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff owners), and he’s got QB1 potential for the rest of the season.
