The 2018 NFL season is 10 weeks old and time is running out to start picking up people from your fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 11.
Vance McDonald, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
McDonald had four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers last Thursday night. He now has four or fewer receptions in four of the last five games, but he has gone over 40 yards in three of the last four.
Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars doesn’t look fantastic for McDonald, but they have allowed five touchdowns to the position over their last two games (six, if you want to count a rushing score for Eric Ebron on Sunday). Beyond that the Denver Broncos (Week 12), Los Angeles Chargers (Week 13), Oakland Raiders (Week 14) and New England Patriots (Week 15) all entered Week 10 no worse than middle of the pack against tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring), along with some sort of consecutive streak or general trend allowing touchdowns to the position.
McDonald is down the pecking order for targets, but he’s got a piece of the pie in a Steelers’ offense that’s going pretty well. You’ll be hoping for touchdowns, but finding a possible low-end TE1 for the rest of the season is somehow still possible heading into Week 11.
