The 2018 NFL season is 10 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire running backs for Week 11.

Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots

Burkhead hasn’t played since suffering a neck injury in Week 3, but he returned to practice last week to start a three-week window to return to action. The Patriots have a bye in Week 11, so Burkhead will only miss one more game before being eligible to return in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.

From Week 13-Week 17, New England’s schedule has a couple tough matchups (Vikings-Week 13, Pittsburgh Steelers-Week 15), and three matchups against defenses who entered Week 11 in the bottom half of the league against running backs (ESPN PPR scoring) in the Miami Dolphins (Week 14), Buffalo Bills (Week 16) and New York Jets (Week 17). The main concern is a workload split, with Sony Michel (assuming he’s healthy) and James White in the mix for touches.

If you know you’re headed for the playoffs in your league and are carrying a player you’re not using, Burkhead is a solid stash. Outside of that his appeal is far lower, but there’s a path to fantasy value here.
