Alex Smith, QB, Washington Redskins

Against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Smith ties his season-high for attempts (46) and set his season-high for yards (306). The Redskins were trailing throughout the game as their defense couldn’t stop anything, and the template for Week 10 could be similar.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while trailing big themselves on Sunday, “held” Cam Newton to 247 passing yards and two touchdowns along with 33 rushing yards. They entered Week 9 allowing the most fantasy points to quarterbacks (ESPN scoring), and that’s not in line to change once the week’s results are final.

Having Smith air it out is not Washington’s ideal game plan, and it’s safe to say they’ll be able to compete better with the Buccaneers in a broad sense. But the potential for a back-and-forth game puts Smith in line for 35-pass attempts, and that makes him worth considering as a streamer or bye week fill-in for Week 10.
