Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles
With Zach Ertz limited by a rib injury, Goedert had a career day against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 with nine receptions (on 12 targets) for 91 yards and a touchdown. He has at least six targets in six straight games, as Philadelphia’s wide receiver group has taken injury hit after injury hit, with over 50 yards in three of the last four.
Ertz’s status for Week 17 is unclear this early in the week, but it’s fair to assume he’ll do everything he can to play with the Eagles able to unequivocally clinch the NFC East with a win over the New York Giants. But it’s also fair to assume he will be limited, and Goedert will get heavy snaps and targets.
The Giants in the top half of the league against tight ends this year. But it’s all about who’s absent or could be absent from the Eagles’ passing offense, and based on a handful of targets at minimum Goedert looks like a viable TE1 for Week 17.
