Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Mark Ingram suffered a calf injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, and with the Ravens securing home field advantage with a win in that game the will easily rest their lead back in Week 17. That lines Edwards up for the early down work, at minimum, in what will be a tough matchup.
The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Week 16 having allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to running backs (Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR scoring). But in their last two games, two backs (Devin Singletary and Le’Veon Bell) have topped 20 carries and 70 yards against them. So there’s some volume-based play there, and Edwards is in line for said nice volume next Sunday.
If you’re an Ingram owner facing Week 17, Edwards is a virtual must-add. But in any situation the Ravens’ No. 2 back is lined to be a flex option or low-end RB2 in standard scoring leagues.
