Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jones had 14 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown (with a 49-yard run) against the Houston Texans in Week 16, along with three catches for 32 yards as Peyton Barber’s fumble cost him touches. Jones has double-digit carries in three straight games and four of the last five, with at least three catches in two of the last three.
It’s not a great matchup in Week 17, as the Atlanta Falcons entered Week 16 in the top half of the league against running backs (Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR scoring). But an individual back has posted over 60 total yards against them in six of their last seven games, including Jones back in Week 12 (67 total yards on 15 touches) and the Raheem Mostert nearly got their (59 total yards) in Week 15.
Assuming he gets at least 10-15 touches, which is hard to blindly assume even with the recent positive trend, Jones looks like no less than a viable flex play for Week 17. He’s at least worth checking on if you have a need.
