Kerryon Johnson, RB, Detroit Lions
In his stead the Lions have had a revolving door at running back, so they will gladly welcome Johnson (knee) back in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos. He’s been practicing over the last two weeks, and he’ll be able to return from IR next Sunday.
The Broncos entered Week 15 as a top-12 fantasy defense against running backs (Yahoo! scoring), and the idea of split work in the Detroit backfield is not ideal. But Johnson will get the passing game work of that possible split, and the faint idea Matthew Stafford returns before the end of the season raises the outlook for the entire Lions’ offense.
If Johnson does return in Week 16 and proves functional, Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers is a nice matchup if it matters in your league. As a somewhat speculative but high upside add in virtually all leagues, Johnson is worth a long look this week.
