Tampa Bay Buccaneers, D/ST
The Buccaneers had a poor defensive showing against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, allowing 35 points with one sack and one takeaway. But they had multiple sacks in five of six games before that, with multiple takeaways in three of the previous four. Week 15 presents a good opportunity for this unit.
In his two starts, Detroit Lions quarterback David Blough has thrown three interceptions and taken seven sacks against the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. Going back to Jeff Driskel’s three starts, the Lions have scored 20 points or less in four of their last five games. In 13 games this season, a defense has registered multiple sacks 11 times (10 straight games).
The Buccaneers are not a particularly good defense. But as long as Matthew Stafford (back) is not back under center next Sunday, it doesn’t necessarily take a good defense to stifle the Lions. If you’re in a league where a defense can’t go negative, the risk goes away in exchange for reward among the most widely available streaming defense options for Week 15.
