The 2019 NFL season is now 11 weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire and hoping they can help you secure a playoff spot. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire tight ends for Week 12.
Noah Fant, TE, Denver Broncos
His efficiency wasn’t very good, with 11 targets, but Fant had four receptions for 60 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11 and he had some near misses in the red zone. He has at least eight targets in two of his last three games, with a 100-yard game (spurred by a 75-yard touchdown) in between.
A tough matchup is coming for Week 12, as the Buffalo Bills entered Week 11 allowing the fewest fantasy points to tight ends (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR). A couple more challenging matchups are on the slate in Week 13 (Los Angeles Chargers) and Week 14 (Houston Texans), before facing three bottom-tier defenses against tight ends (Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders) from Week 15-Week 17.
The tight end landscape practically makes Fant matchup-proof at this point, with a prominent role intact. Expectations should be kept reasonable over the next couple weeks, but the rookie out of Iowa should help you cash in during Week 15 and 16.
