WEEK 8 PICK THEM UP:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

The eighth week of NFL games is in the books and the waiver wire is finally showing some fresh faces again. Several starting caliber waiver wire quarterbacks have emerged and the number of startable wide receivers on the waiver wire seems endless. Things are a little thin at running back ad tight end but given that there weren’t any major injuries this week that’s to be expected. As usual, a majority of the waiver wire adds we recommend this week are the same ones we recommended last week. Be sure to check your waivers for the “Carryovers from Last Week”. In a majority of cases those guys hold the most value. Stay tuned for the cut list we publish every week so you can get the scoop on which players to drop.

Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 8 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 9 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.

WIDE RECEIVERS—PICK THEM UP

Titus Young Sr., WR, Detroit Lions

Titus Young is likely to be one of the first waiver claims in most leagues this week. With Nate Burleson officially placed on the injured reserve last week someone was going to have to pick up the slack. We decided to wait and see and it looks like Titus Young will be the official benefactor though Ryan Broyles will see more work too. Young caught all nine of the balls thrown his way in Week 8 and ended with 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that kind of reliability it will be surprising if Matt Stafford doesn’t continue to go to him often.

Young faces a tough Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense this week that hasn’t given up many scores to wide receivers but is giving up plenty of yards. Expect another big game from Young. He can tentatively be considered a WR3 with WR2 upside from here on out. He’s available in 55% of Fleaflicker leagues right now but you can bet he won’t be there after waivers clear.

Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team, and 14-team Leagues
