WEEK 8 PICK THEM UP: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
The seventh week of NFL games is over and the waiver wire as active as ever which is a good thing as we hit the middle of the bye weeks. This week in particular presents some quality waiver options at quarterback, running back and tight end. A majority of the waiver wire adds we recommend this week are the same ones we recommended last week which goes to show just how useful this article can be for getting the jump on potential adds. Be sure to check your waivers for the “Carryovers from Last Week” because in most cases those guys hold the most value.
Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 7 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 8 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.
WIDE RECEIVERS—PICK THEM UP
Santana Moss, WR, Washington Redskins
Santana Moss has quietly been having himself a solid season after being written off because of his age. He’s clearly not as explosive as he once was but he has gained Robert Griffin’s trust largely because none of the Washington Redskins’ receivers have been able to stay on the field. Moss is not an every week option and certainly not a priority pickup this week but he could help you through a tough bye week thanks to his nose for the endzone. He’s currently averaging 64 yards and a touchdown over his last three games.
The Redskins face a tough Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense this week but RG3 has a habit of making bad matchups into good ones. Expect Moss to get another healthy chunk of targets this week. He’s not a game changer but he won’t lose a week on his own. Use him as a bye week fill-in in deeper leagues. Moss is available in more than half of FleaFlicker leagues so grab him if you need him.
Consider Adding In: 12-team, and 14-team Leagues; especially as a spot play in Standard formats
