WEEK 7 PICK THEM UP:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

The sixth week of NFL games is over and the waiver wire is finally showing some fresh faces again at all the positions except for tight end. This week in particular presents a great opportunity to snag a long term starter at wide receiver. Bye week fill-ins at quarterback are numerous and as usual, more running backs got injured this week thereby vaulting their backups into fantasy football relevance. A majority of the waiver wire adds we recommend this week are the same ones we recommended last week which goes to show just how useful this article can be for getting the jump on potential adds. Be sure to check your waivers for the “Carryovers from Last Week” because in most cases those guys hold the most value. Stay tuned for the cut list we publish every week so you know who you can safely drop.

Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 6 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.

WIDE RECEIVERS—PICK THEM UP

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis Rams

With Danny Amendola out, someone had to step up for the St. Louis Rams. It turned out that both Brandon Gibson and Chris Givens had solid outings though Gibson looks like the wide receiver you want to own. He led the team by catching seven of nine targets for 91 yards. He was Sam Bradford’s most reliable target all day and looks like he’s going to be the official replacement for Amendola until he gets back. Those are big shoes to fill but those shoes come with plenty of fantasy potential. Gibson should have WR3 value until Amendola returns. Because of the role he has taken over, Gibson will be especially useful in PPR formats.

The Rams have two excellent passing matchups against the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots before their bye so it’s worth grabbing Gibson if only as a spot play. He’s available in 83% of FleaFlicker leagues right now if you need him.

Consider Adding In: 10, 12-team and 14-team Leagues: especially as a PPR spot play
