WEEK 6 PICK THEM UP:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

The fifth week of NFL action is over and the waiver wire is looking surprisingly dry yet again. Nevertheless, there is still some value out there for those that have the roster space. A majority of the waiver wire adds we recommend this week are the same ones we recommended last week which goes to show just how useful this article can be for getting the jump on potential adds. Be sure to check your waivers for the “Carryovers from Last Week” because in most cases those guys hold the most value. Stay tuned for the cut list we publish every week so you know who you can safely drop.

Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 5 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 6Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.

RUNNING BACKS—PICK THEM UP

Alex Green, RB, Green Bay Packers

Alex Green has been sitting on the bench for most of the time since he was drafted in 2011. An ACL tear ended his rookie season in Week 7. He finally got his shot to be a feature back this week after Cedric Benson left the game in the second quarter with a leg injury. Green didn’t miss a beat and looked as good as Benson had before leaving. Green racked up 55 yards on nine carries and caught a pass for eight yards. He looks like he could be a very productive back. The severity of Benson’s injury is as of yet unknown but he did leave the stadium with a walking boot on which is not a great sign.

The Green bay Packers face a stout Houston Texans’ defense this week but they have two very juicy matchups in Weeks 7 and 8 if Benson is out that long. At the very worst Green is likely going to be a decent bye week fill-in. Depending on Benson’s injury timeline he might even hold value after that. Green is available in 86% of FleaFlicker leagues so don’t be afraid to pick him up if you are thin at running back right now.

Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team, and 14-team Leagues

Scratch Ryan. He’s done for the season.

Ryan Williams (Arizona Cardinals) should not be a carry-over with the yearly visit to the IR.

We have made the correction. This article was released before the Cardinals announced Williams will be lost for the season.  Thanks for the heads up guys.
