WEEK 5 PICK THEM UP: QB | RB | WR | TE | K | DEF
The fourth week of NFL games is over and the waiver wire is looking surprisingly dry for the first time this season. Nevertheless, there is still some value out there for those that have the roster space. A majority of the fantasy football waiver wire adds we recommend this week are the same ones we recommended last week, which goes to show just how useful this article can be for getting the jump on potential adds.
Be sure to check out our “Carryovers from Last Week” section because in most cases those guys hold the most value.
Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 4 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 5Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.
KICKERS—PICK THEM UP
Nick Novak, K, San Diego Chargers
Nick Novak got his first start of the year this week in the place of the injured Nate Kaeding. He performed admirably, making all three of his field goal attempts and all four extra points. Two of his field goals came from 45-plus yards.
He looks easily as consistent as the injured Nate Kaeding in an offense known for producing great fantasy football kickers. This week he takes on the ultimate bend but don’t break defense in the New Orleans Saints who are giving up 11 points per game to the kicker position. Novak is an excellent grab as a one week play especially since he’s available in 98% of fantasy football leagues.
Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team and 14-team Leagues
Carryovers from Last Week: Blair Walsh (Minnesota Vikings)
Kickers Watch List: Greg Zuerlein (St. Louis Rams), Lawrence Tynes (New York Giants), Connor Barth (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
