WEEK 4 PICK THEM UP:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

The third week of NFL games are over and it presented some crazy situations. With so many overtime and last second wins it’s clear that this going to be a very competitive season. As usual several players stood out. This week’s waivers are particularly full of running back talent (because of injuries) and light on wide receiver and quarterback value. The tight end position continues to be the deepest this year.

Several players we recommended last week also did well. We have added them at the bottom of each section as “Carryovers from Last Week” if they are still widely available. In most cases they should have priority over the others. Stay tuned for the cut list we publish every week so you know who you can safely drop.

Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 3 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 4 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cut List.

WIDE RECEIVERS—PICK THEM UP

Denarius Moore, WR, Oakland Raiders

Moore looked to be back in elite form this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He received 10 targets from an effective Carson Palmer. The two looked to be in mid-season form. Moore ended with five receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. He’s clearly Palmer’s go-to receiver at this point and his past big play ability can’t be ignored. As Moore settles in expect to see even more impressive production.

Moore’s matchups aren’t great in the coming weeks; however if he can put up these numbers against the Steelers he should have no trouble with the other defenses he will face. He’s still out there in 48% of Fleaflicker leagues, so grab him if he is still available in your league.

Leonard Hankerson, WR, Washington Redskins

Hankerson has impressed during his playing time in the absence of the injured Pierre Garcon. He didn’t get on the field in Week 1,but in Week 2 he caught a touchdown pass along with another catch to total 68 yards on three targets. This week he got even more work with four catches on seven targets for 56 yards. As it looks now, Hankerson is slowly creeping his way up the depth chart. He got significantly more looks than Aldrick Robinson, Santana Moss and Josh Morgan this week. Until Garcon returns, Hankerson looks like he could be a quality start on your fantasy football roster.

Next week Hankerson faces a very passing friendly Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense on the road. In Week 5 the Redskins take on the Atlanta Falcons, which will be a tough matchup in Week 5, however gets the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 and the New York Giants in Week 6. He’s a low priority add this week, but remember that Robert Griffin III is developing chemistry with him so he’s certainly a good one to stash. Hankerson universally available.
