POTENTIAL QB SLEEPER PICK OF THE WEEK
Jason Campbell (Oakland Raiders) vs. New England
Campbell has been up and down this season, sandwiching two games with less than 200 passing yards around a 323-yard outing against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. He has five total touchdowns (two rushing) this season with just one interception, and now gets a favorable matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 4. The Patriots have allowed the second-most fantasy points (23.0 per game) to opposing quarterbacks this season and have yet to allow less than 369 passing yards in a game. Campbell’s fantasy potential this week hinges on the Raiders’ offensive game plan, and if they try to run the ball and keep the New England offense off the field that will limit his production. That said, he makes for a worthy flier for fantasy owners in leagues where you can start two quarterbacks.
POTENTIAL QB SLEEPER PICK OF THE WEEK
Kyle Orton (Denver Broncos) @ Green Bay
Orton went 24-for-39 for 175 yards with two touchdown and two interceptions against the Tennessee Titans last week, and despite fans clamoring for Tim Tebow has managed to post double-digit fantasy points in all three games this season. He is clearly not an every week fantasy starter at this point, but a favorable matchup this week against the Green Bay Packers creates some optimism. The Packers have allowed the most second-most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks, including over 400 yards twice, but have also intercepted five passes over the past two games. The Broncos’ conservative offense limits Orton’s fantasy upside most of the time, but that may have to change this week since the Packers offense can be expected to move the ball well against the Denver defense and a more aggressive gameplan is likely to be required. All things considered, Orton is worth consideration as a QB2 with some upside this week.
