Our “Fantasy Football Start ‘Ems”for Week 3 will help you identify which players it’s worth taking that risk on at each position..
QUARTERBACKS - START ‘EM
Matt Stafford (Detroit Lions) @ Dallas
We’ve always wondered what Stafford could do if he stayed healthy, and thus far he has not disappointed. The No. 1 overall pick in 2009 has 977 passing yards and nine touchdowns with just two interceptions so far this season, and Week 4 brings a favorable matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Despite being banged up in the secondary the Cowboys have not allowed a ton of passing yards, but facing Alex Smith of the San Francisco 49ers and Rex Grossman of the Washington Redskins over the past two weeks has something to do with that. The Lions probably have the most prolific offense Dallas has faced thus far and Stafford has a wide array of pass targets at his disposal. If the offensive line can keep linebacker DeMarcus Ware and the Cowboys pass rush at bay, another big game looks likely. Stafford is a legit QB1 for Week 4.

Eli Manning (New York Giants) @ Arizona
Manning went 16-for-23 for 254 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions against the Philadelphia Eagles in a game in which Lava Tickets had many great seats available . After leading the league with 25 interceptions in 2010, he has thrown just two so far this season and now gets a favorable matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona allowed just 171 passing yards to Tarvaris Jackson of the Seattle Seahawks last week, but did allow a rushing touchdown to him. Prior to that, the Cardinals allowed 356.5 passing yards per game to Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Rex Grossman of the Washington Redskins and Manning arguably has more talent than those two and a more talent around him as well. Week 4 starts a favorable stretch in his schedule, so this may not be the first time Manning is a solid QB1 for fantasy owners over the next few weeks.
