WEEK 3 PICK THEM UP:  QB  |  RB  |  WR  |  TE  |  K  |  DEF

After the second week of games we are getting a better idea who the reliable fantasy football producers are going to be. A lot of them are still on the waiver wire. We hope you didn’t get hit by the injury bugs going around but in case you did, here’s a list of potential replacements that are available in at least 25% of Fleaflicker leagues. If you read up last week you will notice that some of these players were on last week’s list. Take this as an extra vote of confidence for those players. Without further ado, here are the week three most desirable waiver additions.

Quick Note: Not all players that had strong Week 2 outings are on this list, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t have value. If you have any questions about free agents not discussed in this article, head over to the forums and we’ll help you with the answers. If you are wondering who to cut to pick these one of these players up, stay tuned for our Week 3 Waiver Wire Cut List.

QUARTERBACKS PICK THEM UP

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Buffalo Bills

If you were paying attention we recommended picking Fitzpatrick up last week. This was partly because he looked good and plays well early in the season and partly because his matchups were great. His numbers are nothing spectacular (only averaging 186YPG passing) but he looks good for multiple TDs against weak defenses. He’ll face forgiving secondaries until week five when the Bills are at the 49ers. This week he tossed three touchdowns and no interceptions against an obviously weak Chiefs’ defense. He even got his rushing game going with four carries for 34 yards.
Next weak Fitzpatrick makes a good stream play yet again, this time at the Browns. Normally a solid defense, the Browns will be without top cornerback Joe Haden who continues to serve his suspension. This week the Haden-less Browns got shredded by mediocre QB Andy Dalton and the Bengals to the tune of 318 yards and three touchdowns. If Dalton can complete 77% of his passes against the Browns, Fitzpatrick should be a safe play against them. In case you are looking for a two week option, the Bills host the Patriots in week four. That’s not a bad matchup either. He’s still only owned in 56% of Fleaflicker leagues so grab him now. You might even be able to sell him for something in two weeks.

Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team and 14-team Leagues, particularly two-quarterback leagues

Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

As mentioned above, Dalton looked outstanding this week against the Browns. He’s now thrown for 539 yards in two games and is getting plenty of opportunity to pass. This week he faces a Washington defense that let Sam “mediocre” Bradford pass on them for 310 yards and three touchdowns. Dalton, who has better weapons and arguably a better arm, should have no problem dissecting that same defense. And he’ll have to pass plenty because there is no way the Bengals defense will be able to stop Robert Griffin III. Dalton is currently owned in only 71% of Fleaflicker leagues. He should be owned in all of them. At the very worst he makes an excellent backup.

Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team and 14-team Leagues, particularly two-quarterback leagues

Quarterbacks Watch List: Christian Ponder (Minnesota Vikings), Sam Bradford (St. Louis Rams), Carson Palmer (Oakland Raiders), Chad Henne (Jacksonville Jaguars)
