Vikings claim RB Rosenfels off waivers

The Minnesota Vikings claimed quarterback Sage Rosenfels on waivers Friday.

Rosenfels was waived by the Miami Dolphins off the reserve/non-football illness list late Thursday evening. He has not played this season due to a lingering blood infection.

Rosenfels will take the roster slot of Donovan McNabb, who was waived by the Vikings on Thursday.

He was signed by Minnesota in 2009 and was expected to vie for the starter's job until the Vikings signed Brett Favre.
