The Houston Texans signed veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia on Wednesday, one day removed from cutting fellow signal caller Kellen Clemens.
Garcia, 41, had individual workouts in Houston after quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart were injured. The Texans signed Jake Delhomme last week to serve as the backup to rookie T.J. Yates.
Garcia briefly played in one game for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 after competing the previous two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
