The Houston Texans have signed veteran quarterback Jake Delhomme.
Delhomme, who worked out for the Texans on Tuesday, will serve as backup to rookie T.J. Yates.
The Texans are super-thin at the quarterback spot after losing Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart to season-ending injuries.
Houston signed Kellen Clemens last week after Schaub was told he needed surgery on his right foot.
Delhomme, a 10-year veteran, spent last season with Cleveland. He has thrown for 20,764 yards and 125 touchdowns in his career.
