New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis plan to be at the NFL offices in New York Tuesday for their respective appeals following suspensions due to the team's bounty scandal.
According to ESPN, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell won't waste any time and is pushing for an expedited appeal. He is expected to have his ruling soon after both cases are made.
Payton was served a season-long suspension for the Saints' bounty program, which provided incentives to players for injuring opponents. Loomis was dealt an eight-game ban, beginning at the end of the preseason. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who ran the bounty program, was suspended indefinitely.
As many as 27 players have been rumored to be sanctioned for their roles in the program. However, the league has not provided any evidence to the NFL Players Association, according to DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the NFLPA.
