Free-agent quarterback Kyle Orton reached a three-year agreement with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
The Cowboys submitted a claim for Orton when he was placed on waivers last year, but he was awarded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Orton has started 69 games in seven NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos and Chiefs.
The 29-year-old will serve as backup for first string quarterback Tony Romo.
