Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman isn't rushing to discuss the terms of a new contract, the Tampa Bay Times reported on Saturday.
“We haven't had any discussions about it,” said Ron Freeman, who serves as his son's agent.
“I think there's no rush. Obviously, we want to have something done by 2013. It's really kind of wait and see. I don't think either side feels like there's any reason to do something before then.”
The 17th overall pick of the 2009 draft, Freeman regressed after a solid 2010 season in which he threw for 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. In 2011, he was intercepted 22 times as Tampa Bay plummeted to a 4-12 mark.
Freeman is set to make $8.58 million in 2012 and $10.45 million in 2013.
