Safety Kenny Phillips was one of four New York Giants fined by the NFL for illegal hits, ESPN.com reported Friday.
The league doled out the most expensive infraction toward Phillips, who was fined $30,000 for unnecessary roughness against the Tampa Buccaneers last Sunday.
Phillips was fined for striking defenseless Tampa Bay receiver Vincent Jackson on a pass play. No penalty was called on the play.
Running back Andre Brown was fined $15,750 for a horse-collar tackle on Brandon McDonald during an interception return. Offensive linemen David Baas and Kevin Boothe were each fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness after the Buccaneers plowed into the line as quarterback Eli Manning was taking a knee on the last play of the game.
